Role Description/Criteria

The role of the teacher/trainer at Catholic Regional College Sydenham is to be the primary facilitator through whom the College fulfils its mission of providing a Catholic secondary education for young men and women.

Catholic Regional College Sydenham was founded in 1982 as a Catholic senior school for students in the West of Melbourne. It is the largest of its kind in Victoria, specialising in VCE, VCAL and VET studies.

The school is a part of the Catholic Regional College Federation of schools encompassing 7-10 Colleges at St Albans, North Keilor and Caroline Springs as well as Years 7-12 at Melton. The founders of the school understood that in building a specialist senior campus, students would benefit from having specialist teachers and the widest range of subjects offered.

Catholic Regional College Sydenham seeks a Barber Trainer. Experience in a school environment as well as industry relevant experience is highly recommended to enable the successful applicant to work closely with the college vocational team to support and enhance student success for future pathways and engagement.

Salary will be based on the VCEMEA 2018. The level and subdivision of the successful candidate will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications and previous industry experience.

Successful applicants will be able to fulfil the following Additional Requirements:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116 OR Higher);
  • Current relevant Vocational industry experience (minimum 1 year);
  • Appropriate vocational qualifications (Salon Assistant or barbering qualification);
  • WWCC/VIT Permission to Teach;
  • Must comply with the CRC Sydenham Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct.

Please note that CRC Sydenham will accept applications that hold a current working with children check and are happy to support any successful candidates in attaining their Permission to Teach.
