The Faculty of Education is internationally recognised for excellence in research, teaching and service. Among our programs are undergraduate and masters teacher education degrees in early childhood, primary, and secondary education and a wide range of postgraduate coursework and research degrees in education, counselling, psychology and educational and organisational leadership.
The Opportunity
The Health and Physical Education specialisation has one of the highest levels of student satisfaction in the Faculty’s BEd (Hons) suite. The role of Lecturer is of critical importance in continuing to build upon this reputation and the essential requirements related to the Health and Physical Education specialisation within the Bachelor of Education and Masters of Teaching.
A Level B academic is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the university and to carry out scholarly, research and/or professional activities such as conducting lectures, seminars, tutorials, developing subject material and the supervision of students engaged in coursework or research.
The research program in this area is diverse, offering plenty of opportunities to contribute to best practice research. Our work investigates how to educate, and support personal, social and community health, address health inequities, and promote physically active lifestyles.
The successful candidate will have;
A doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline area or equivalent accreditation and standing
Detailed expertise in primary Health and Physical Education, wellbeing and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning more broadly
Demonstrated experience in curriculum and subject material development
Strong industry partnerships related to Health and Physical Education which can be drawn on to support the excellent foundations in this area
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
