The Australian National University (ANU) aspires to be the University of choice for Indigenous Australians. To fulfil this aspiration, ANU is building a National Indigenous Business Development Hub that connects research, policy and practice to provide an environment for debating the big issues in the advancement of Australia’s Indigenous people and partners with Indigenous Australia to advance the status, recognition and lives of Indigenous Australians. The ANU is seeking to appoint an outstanding professional leader as the Director, National Indigenous Business Development Hub.

The Director of the National Indigenous Business Development Hub is responsible for building and maintaining core partnerships with academic colleagues across ANU and key external partners. The Hub will conduct a broad scope of activities related to advancing discussion and policy development on themes including democratic participation, engagement projects, fundraising including donations and grants, societal equity, and economic opportunity as they relate to Indigenous Australians. The Director will also serve as Deputy to the Vice-President (First Nations) in the management and leadership of the First Nations Portfolio.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in high-level business development, partnerships and networking abilities along with people management skills to develop and implement strategic projects to achieve desired changes. A deep engagement with the First Nations people, Indigenous elders and other community members to understand issues and priorities and set collective strategies will benefit you greatly in your quest to champion the voice of the First Nations People and distil key messages to internal ANU and external stakeholders.
