Living in the Bloomfield River and Wudjal Wudjal region, Bloomfield is located on the east coast of Cape York, approximately 4 hours north of Cairns or 1 hour south of Cooktown by road. The Bloomfield/ Wudjal Wudjal locale is a popular rest point for tourists exploring the Cape York region. Camping and 4WD adventures are popular pastimes for locals and visitors alike, and I hear the fishing isn't too bad either!

Bloomfield is accessible by road most of the year, although rains can make road travel difficult in the wet season (November to March) - a 4WD is definitely recommended! Hinterland aviation operate a regular passenger service from Cairns to Cooktown, Monday to Sunday.
