About Bloomfield River State School
Welcome to Bloomfield River State School. We are a small remote community school catering for approximately students from Prep to Year Six. Our dedicated and professional teaching team are proud of the friendly and productive learning environment they foster. As the Principal, you will have responsibility for the following:

Living in the Bloomfield River and Wudjal Wudjal region, Bloomfield is located on the east coast of Cape York, approximately 4 hours north of Cairns or 1 hour south of Cooktown by road. The Bloomfield/ Wudjal Wudjal locale is a popular rest point for tourists exploring the Cape York region. Camping and 4WD adventures are popular pastimes for locals and visitors alike, and I hear the fishing isn't too bad either!
Bloomfield is accessible by road most of the year, although rains can make road travel difficult in the wet season (November to March) - a 4WD is definitely recommended! Hinterland aviation operate a regular passenger service from Cairns to Cooktown, Monday to Sunday.
A mandatory requirement of this role is:
- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE.
