Position Summary

We are seeking a Library Coordinator (Research Engagement) to join our Library in a management role.

The Library Coordinator (Research Engagement) will be accountable for the development of library research services for researchers and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students related to scholarly publishing and communication practices, and data management. The position supervises and coordinates staff delivering library services to the Flinders research community.

As a member of the Library's management team, the incumbent will be expected to contribute to a 'one Library' ethos and support other members of the senior management in delivery of services across all teams.

Key Position Capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment including experience in managing time and tasks so that team objectives are successfully achieved on time and with available resources.
  • Demonstrated high level organisation and administrative skills and the capacity and capability to coordinate disparate role groups across campuses through collegial work practices.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop reports and project documentation and liaise and negotiate with a variety of clients.
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative and working collaboratively in a complex environment.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and data analysis to make informed recommendations regarding services, and to take responsibility for achieving outcomes.
  • Eligibility for Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (desirable)
