What an opportunity – this Assistant Program Manager position (e.g. Assistant Coordinator level) is currently available with this well established NFP organisation that is 80 years old and has a focus on research and contemporary pedagogical methodology.

Why this role?

  • Approx $30 per hour, above award for the right candidate that possesses the right experience and qualifications.
  • Classified permanent part-time position, 35 hours a week.
  • Split shifts working 7am – 9am and 1pm – 6pm, however flexible on hours as long as the core hours of 7am – 9am and 2pm – 6pm are worked.
  • 5 hours admin time included in this role, ideally 1pm – 2pm, however can be worked where best suited.
  • This is a Term Time position with the option to work Vacation Care if wanted as the service also runs Vacation Care.
  • Shared Educational Leader position, there are 2 educators at this level (Assistant Program Manager). Don’t feel overworked and an opportunity to share the workload.
  • Assist the Program Manager with the day-to-day organisation, management and leadership of this OSHC service.
  • Small enough organisation to have those close relationships.
  • Organisation invests in mental health first aid, wellbeing, benefit packages, etc.
  • Culture is lived from the top down with a positive workplace culture flowing through the organisation.

  • Organisation does project work and can help standout educators to further their studies – send to conferences etc.
  • General Manager meets once a month with this position one on one, to find out what support they need and want. Collaborative process.
  • All Assistant Program Manager’s meet up once a month to share and collaborate with each other, work with this supportive educator learning environment.
  • Head office to organise policies and other items, giving you more time to focus on the centre, QIP, children, team and the community.

Why this centre?
  • Under 150 place service approved for before and after school care.
  • Unique two school set up – runs off one site 3 days, and off another site 2 days. Both schools basically next to each other, so it is just like swapping rooms. Means no interference from extracurricular school activities (genuinely get to use the space designated).
  • Centre utilises Kidzap for CCMS and Storypark for programming / documentation (easy online access to families and all educators).
  • Located on school grounds with a very supportive school and community.
  • Supported by an experienced Program Manager (Coordinator) that is out of ratio, plus an additional 1 above ratio to handle children going to extracurricular activities – that’s 2 above ratio. Currently there is no Inclusion Support funding at or required at this service.
  • Feel supported with an additional 3-4 additional Responsible Person’s (RP’s) in the team already. That is additional to the leadership team, with this service having 6-7 RP’s total currently.
  • An understanding that each service is different within the organisation and that they have their own unique workings to suit their communities.
  • Gain valuable experience working with primary aged children and further develop your career.

  • Someone that has experience working in a leadership role who is able to support the development of the team.
  • Someone that is passionate on supporting children, including those with additional needs and helping the team to develop their skills in supporting these children.
  • CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • Working towards a qualification or hold Diploma in Children’s Services (Out-of-Hours Care), or equivalent desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NQF and all it embodies - NQS, Framework, Regulations.
