  • Full time 12 months temporary role
  • Location Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Queanbeyan or Orange preferred. Other regional office locations will be considered
  • Salary commencing from $110,745k + superannuation

The Department of Regional NSW was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues.

NSW Local Land Services (LLS) within the newly formed Department of Regional NSW is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry and the Soil Conservation Service.

About the role:

This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and delivering ICT training and education pathways for Invasive Species and Pest Animal Specialist staff functions to deliver a well-trained workforce that meets LLS responsibilities and objectives.

The Training Coordinator will manage the competing priorities to deliver high quality responsive support services as well as timely resolution of issues and delivery of training services. This role will identify training and skill gaps and ensure training, documentation and resource material address the changes in legislation and business objectives.

The role will be accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Face-to-face regional training
  • Interactive & Online training (cross regional)
  • In-field training & support
  • Intensive one on one support (both face to face and online)

Additionally, the role would also encompass:

  • Working closely with and reporting to the Lead Project Business Analyst to ensure functional requirements of the project are adequate including integrations and chemical register management
  • Working closely with the existing Training Co-ordinator to develop and refine targeted training material
  • Be the lead user acceptance tester and Co-ordinator for Poisons & Pest Animals
  • Assist, prepare & manage Staff access for this group
  • Assist and prepare data migration material including poison registers and staff qualifications

About You:

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have:

  • Experience in the design of adult learning and technology enhanced learning resources, with experience in delivering training and education pathways for specialist staff functions.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Aptitude to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure successful delivery of training to clients
  • Previous experience working within an Invasive Species and/or Biosecurity environment will be highly regarded

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in organisational development, learning and development, adult education or equivalent, or extensive demonstrated experience in a learning and development role.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
