This year, ACPE is combining its sports teaching expertise and resources with the proven football development methodology and philosophy of an English Premier League club to create a partnership that will deliver a range of youth coaching and academy programs. Players will be offered an exclusive opportunity to improve their football skills and develop in the technical, tactical, physical and social aspects of the game through age-specific coaching sessions.

Position Overview

ACPE is seeking a Head Coach/Technical Director to implement this program in partnership with an EPL club. The position will be based in Sydney and will be responsible for the effective implementation, oversight and delivery of all technical coaching aligned with the philosophy of the club.

The Head Coach’s role will be to recruit, train and develop local coaches, as well as deliver coach education workshops and club-specific accreditation to support development needs.

The successful applicant must be able to develop coaches consistent with ACPE values and club philosophy ensuring both session plans and key messages remain consistent. For this reason, experience working within a youth development or academy program is considered an essential requirement for the role.

The incumbent will also work together with ACPE to promote all programs including community and school engagement, helping to drive engagement with both the football program and ACPE more broadly.

Required Skills and Experience * Valid football license from a FIFA affiliated international football federation - minimum FFA B or equivalent.

  • A strong grounding in youth talent development.
  • Demonstrated experience in coach development/ coach mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coordinate and supervise a team.
  • Experience developing and managing a successful coaching program/syllabus
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people including children and parents
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Experience in and an understanding of relevant up to date methods and techniques followed by English professional football academies is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, promotion, and brand direction are also highly desirable.
