About the role

Under the direction of the General manager and in collaboration with the Community Services Division, you will provide specialist professional, strategic and operational leadership to the Youth Services and Remote School Attendance Strategy departments with the objective of increasing youth engagement through evidence based methodology in collaboration with Yolngu cultural practices.

Responsibilities

Manage, lead and develop a team of RSAS Coordinators and Youth Worker Team Leaders
Develop and refine policy, procedures, programmes and, supporting materials that support youth engagement in education, work, health services, training, sport and cultural activities
Undertake regular engagement with Territory Families, Department of Education, NIAA and School Principals
Ensure that all RSAS reporting is accurate, timely and within programme guidelines
Identify opportunities to improve services and develop business cases

Skills and Experience

Undergraduate degree in human, social, health and or community services
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Children, Youth and Family services
Experience leading and running programmes that are located in multiple locations
Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills
Experience working with and identifying people who have suffered trauma
Experience liaising with partner organisations and stakeholders in delivering positive and collaborative outcomes
Drivers Licence
Ability to obtain an Ochre Card
