The National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA) commenced in 2011 and aims to provide Indigenous people from across Australia the opportunity to complete a nationally accredited workplace-based traineeship in hospitality, tourism, retail or horticulture, as applicable to the locality.

The Ayers Rock Resort complex also includes the Australian Tourism Award winning, Uluru Meeting Place, a campground, the Red Ochre Spa, the award winning Sounds of Silence (entered into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame) as well as 15 independently branded food and beverage outlets.

We are currently seeking a NITA Learning Coordinator to join our friendly team and assist with contributing to the strategic goals and objectives of Ayers Rock Resort with the responsibility of retaining Indigenous employees in our workforce. You will be expected to provide quality, market-leading language, literacy, numeracy and foundation skills to our NITA trainees.

Essential criteria will include:
Developing, planning and managing the effective and efficient delivery of a language, literacy and numeracy (LLND) program for trainees, with rolling intakes across all NITA locations, under the direction of the NITA Operations Manager.
Development of LLND resources and tools as is required for the program to support trainees to complete a qualification up to a Certificate III level.
Training and mentoring of trainers and other relevant team to effectively deliver and support the LLND program as is planned and to the standards set.
Development and management of trainee LLND Support plans
Delivery of LLND program to Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) accreditation and other related regulatory standards and requirements.
Reporting and record keeping across deliverables of the NITA traineeship program as is required by National and State regulatory requirements or the business unit, across all locations.
Working with key external and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective operation and delivery of the LLND program and related services including Registered Training Organisations under third-party arrangements.
Encouraging trainees to participate in the LLND program.
Contributing to the strategic development, enhancement and expansion of the NITA program over the next three to five years.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience as a facilitator.
TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor (required)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across different areas and levels within NITA, Voyages and with external providers.
Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to interpret the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and Foundation Skills (FS) units of competency
Demonstrated ability to identify LLND and FS needs and implement related strategies as defined by the business unit
Demonstrated ability to develop LLND and FS resources that are based on the ACSF levels across all five (5) core skills and relevant FS units of competency
Demonstrated ability to plan and train in LLND and FS disciplines in line with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and in consideration of learning needs of Indigenous people
Demonstrated experience to effectively communicate with Indigenous people and a knowledge and understanding of their culture.
Demonstrated ability to work both in a small, busy team environment and independently to achieve outcomes.
Ability to lead by example including professional etiquette, work standards and positive outlook.
Ability to manage and monitor the work of external suppliers related to the role within the context of the business unit.
High levels of understanding of training and the VET industry.
Hands on experience within the Hospitality and Tourism industries (highly desirable)
A National Police Check is a mandatory step of the recruitment process.
