Appointment Pool

Yanchep Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of proactive, intelligent and passionate Teacher - Design and Technology for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2022.

Applicants would ideally be teachers who can engage students and challenge them to achieve their personal best; be able to work effectively in a team and independently and can support the initiatives and programs in Design and Technology, within Yanchep SC. In addition, you will be able to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks.

Suitable applicants will be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated. You will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs. This role will require you to actively participate in planning of the curriculum and the development of programs to address the school’s core expectations.

Yanchep SC is a new secondary school that opened at the start of 2018 in a state of the art facility in Yanchep. The school is an independent public school and caters for students in Years 7 to Year 12. The school has a focus on student engagement and technology and this is a key part of the teaching and learning philosophy of the school.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
