Your Role

As the Head of Department - Teaching and Learning, you will have responsibility for the following:
  • Assist the Deputy Principal of Inclusion in the development of the school inclusion policy and practice
  • Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the inclusion policy and related actions so as to ensure equitable access to a relevant curriculum for learners with Individual educational needs
  • Assist the Deputy Principal of Inclusion in overseeing the formulation, implementation and review of Individual Curriculum Programs where required
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students with disability.
  • Assist in managing the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the inclusive education faculty to achieve school goals.
  • Compile, access and regularly monitor the records of diverse and supported learners
  • Assist the DPI in providing advice to Learning Support and Diverse Learning Educators
  • Co-ordinating professional development opportunities for colleagues and participating in continuing Professional Development
  • Liaise and collaborate with external agencies, parents and carers of students with disabilities and who require support.
  • Gather diagnostic data as required to help plan class timetabling, support provisions and develop a specific learning path for diverse and supported learners.
  • Support and actively implement inclusive education practices.
