The UTS Library is recruiting for a Collections, Resources and Discovery Manager to take responsibility for the strategic development, discovery and budget management of the Library's collections to meet the meet the learning, teaching and research needs of the UTS Community. The position oversees the negotiation, acquisition, description, delivery and discovery of all collections acquired by the Library.
Detailed Description

The Collections, Resources and Discovery Manager is a key member of the Library's Planning and Policy Team, contributing to the development of the Library's strategic direction, the achievement of key results and building a culture of creativity and collaboration. The Manager provides expert advice to the Library and academic community on publisher relations, licensing, metadata and scholarly communication.

If successful in applying for this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and management of the Library's collections and information resources
  • Oversee the Library's discovery platform to maximise access to, and use of, information resources
  • Lead the Scholarly Information department
  • Support eResearch, Open Access and Research Performance
  • Support the sound financial management of the University's collection budget
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Library
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in acquisition of content and budget management within the tertiary or related environment
  • Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills both within and outside an organisational unit, and in commercial relationships
  • Experience in strategic leadership and management to lead and develop cohesive, collaborative and client focused teams
  • Experience in the selection, management and discovery of scholarly information resources in an academic environment
Remuneration/Salary

Base Salary Range: $120, 584 to $126, 325 pa (HEW 9)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
