Psychologist

Student Support Services in the Department of Education works with schools and preschools to provide a range of support to assist in meeting the needs of all children. The Psychologist is a member of an inter- disciplinary team and works with children and young people with developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical difficulties, and exceptional needs (including giftedness) – and their families.

At both AHP2 and AHP3 levels, the Psychologist works with school/preschool staff and parents to develop evidence based psychology interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies that can be adapted for learning and home contexts.

At AHP3 level, the Psychologist will also demonstrate expertise in working with children and young people with additional and complex needs, and will provide professional support and supervision to other psychologists.

Notes
Roles are available at either AHP2 or AHP3 level. Candidates will be appointed to the appropriate level based on the qualifications outlined in the Essential Criteria.

Vacancies are available as follows:

· Ongoing role – Part time 1 day per week / 3.75 hours per week

· Ongoing role – Full time 37.5 hours per week

· Temporary role up to 13/1/2022 – Full time 37.5 hours per week

All roles are located in Elizabeth South.

Essential Criteria
At AHP2 level a current and full registration (general) with the Psychologist Board of Australia is essential.

At AHP3 level a current and full registration (general) with the Psychologist Board of Australia is essential; and in addition, candidates must be an approved supervisor by the Psychology Board of Australia.

Special Conditions
A current Drivers Licence and willingness to drive is essential.

The successful applicant is required to gain a prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires.

The incumbent will be required to undertake Responding to Abuse & Neglect (RAN) full day/online training course every three years.

Remuneration
AHP2 - $83,152 - $96,329 per annum
AHP3 - $98,157 - $105,285 per annum
