Your Opportunity

North Coast Region is seeking applicants with skills and experience leading quality improvement initiatives in an educational context.

Three positions are available, these being 2 x A07 Early Childhood Manager - Quality Programs, Services and Educational Leadership and 1 x A07 Early Childhood Manager - Access, Participation and Inclusion.

The core objectives of the positions will be to facilitate children's early learning and development and successful transition to school, through a focus on access, participation and attendance of all children in a quality early learning pathway to school. The emphasis of the regional work funded through this project will be on:

Improving the quality of approved kindergarten programs
Improving participation and attendance in early learning pathways including approved kindergarten programs
Increasing successful transition pathways for children into kindergarten and into school.

About You

Applicants can choose to apply for either or both positions, however will need to demonstrate the skills and knowledge relevant to the position being applied for. The skills and knowledge to be demonstrated are outlined below:

AO7 Early Childhood Manager - Quality Programs and Services and Educational Leadership

Strong knowledge of the early childhood education and care sector including approved learning frameworks, current early years pedagogies and curriculum.
Knowledge of best practice transition practices.
Ability to develop and deliver professional development through a range of modes including virtual, on demand, face to face.
Ability to engage in professional collaborative partnerships and conversations to enact change.
Strong partnership and communication skills.
Knowledge of case management processes.

A07 Early Childhood Manager - Access, Participation and Inclusion

Strong knowledge of inclusive practices considering social, cultural, physical and linguistic diversity.
Knowledge and understanding of the barriers to children's access, engagement and inclusion in early learning.
Ability to broker partnerships with key stakeholders and lead initiatives focused on increasing access, participation and inclusion in early learning.
Knowledge of best practice transition practices.
Knowledge of case management processes.

Your Role

As the Early Childhood Manager you will:

Lead and manage an early childhood education and care (ECEC) team in the delivery of regional services.
Facilitate the administration of state and nationally applied ECEC services legislation in the region.
Provide direction and support for quality assessment and ratings and audit processes, including moderation and first tier review of assessment ratings in relation to approved early childhood education and care services.

The incumbent will be required to undertake their duties as authorised officer under section 195 - Authorisation of authorised officers of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010. It is therefore considered advantageous if the incumbent is already recognised as an authorised officer under this section of the legislation.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
