A rare and unique opportunity with one of Australia's Leading RTOs for an RTO Operations Manager has just been made available. 

This is full-time, permanent role based in Brisbane CBD, and is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to improve the lives of others by providing experienced leadership and helping to improve business operations.

The primary goal of this role is both operational and aspirational in nature, and aims to improve the learning experiences and lives of students, whilst ensuring that staff in Australia have a sound, positive leader to help drive the company vision forward.

You will work with an organisation committed to providing and improving an amazing student support experience, and online education.

The Role

As an RTO Operations Manager, you will take a senior role in helping to drive positive changes, organisation-wide, both for staff and students. You would take on a senior management role in driving revenue growth, securing funding contracts, managing the daily RTO operations, and improving the learning and support experience of students.

You will also assume a leadership role in the Brisbane head office and work with their Sales Manager and Business Development Manager to secure funding opportunities and strategic partnerships to drive business growth into new and existing markets.

You will be reporting to the General Manager / CEO and be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Operations
    • Lead, manage, coordinate, and facilitate day to day operations for the RTO in the Brisbane Head Office
    • Manage, lead, coordinate, and supervise administration/operations staff and provide support to the wider Australian team
    • Coordinate HR, recruitment, and ER as necessary for current and prospective employees
    • Assist with staff selection and performance management
    • Coordinate resources and procurement for Australia
    • Manage and enhance all aspects of operational systems and processes for the Australian head office to ensure uninterrupted operations
    • Source and negotiate potential infrastructure and venue needs
    • Manage the coordination of corporate events and functions
    • Manage domestic grievance and complaints
    • Manage the learning management system (LMS)
    • Maintain and implement continuous improvement programs
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the VET sector and regulatory requirements
  • Manage Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
    • Oversee the sales operations and business development functions
    • Secure funding, contracts, and tender
    • Develop strategic partnerships for vocational placements and training venues and other identified opportunities
    • Develop new revenue opportunities through strategic partnerships with other RTOs, both nationally and internationally 
  • Assist in Improving the Courses, and Student Experience
    • Manage Student Services and Administration leaders and personnel to ensure a consistent, quality student experience
    • Ensure RTO operations are efficient and deliver amazing student experiences and quality outcomes
    • Review and enhance existing RTO systems and procedures to improve student support and satisfaction
    • Provide support and support staff for the development and implementation of courses and content creation
    • Review and improve courses, course delivery, and student experience feedback
    • Assist in researching, developing, and implementing new and creative content and systems to students throughout the learning journey

Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in an RTO environment with 2 years senior management experience and proven track record in change management
  • Diploma of Training Development and Design, Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Recommended), or Higher
  • Experience managing small to large projects in a broad range of areas
  • Sound Understanding of the Standards for RTOs 2015
  • Able to work in multi-disciplined teams in a reliable and highly professional manner
  • High level of attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Independent research and presentation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications and computer skills
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • A passion for vocational learning and creating an amazing student journey
  • High level of energy, integrity and self motivation
