Duties
The Teacher under Supervision role is designed to attract industry competent and current professionals into teaching. It is available as a fixed term appointment for the first year only of an industry professional's employment with TasTAFE. During the year it is expected that the Teacher under Supervision will attain the essential requirements to be a teacher in TasTAFE as per the Teacher Statement of Duties.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Services Plumbing Industry professional to join our dynamic Plumbing Teaching Team. The position will be based at our Valley Road Campus in Devonport. You will bring your industry experience and a keen sense of giving back to your trade and passing on your skills and knowledge to our learners.
Essential Requirements
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment)
- Current registration issued by the Teacher Registration Board - Specialist Vocational Education and Training registration, or a limited authority to teach (to be sought by TasTAFE on behalf of the applicant) and granted by the Teachers Registration Board (Tasmania) in accordance with the provisions of the Teachers Registration Act 2000. A person with a limited authority to teach can only be employed on a fixed-term basis.
- TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer - Presenter Skill Set from the Certificate IV in TAE (or equivalent).
- Experience in a vocational education training environment.
- Full Certificate IV TAE as set out by the Australian Skills Quality Authority Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
