Early Years Planning and Engagement Officer
- Temporary full time up to 12 months
- $86,170.09 (Excl Super)
- Increase education and awareness of the benefits of Early Start Kindergarten
The Victorian Government is investing $5 billion into early childhood education across the State over the next ten years. As part of this package, funded three-year-old Kindergarten is being rolled out across the Mornington Peninsula Shire from 2022 -2029. The role of the Early Years Planning and Engagement Officer is to support the successful implementation of this initiative across our region, ensuring all children have access to two years of funded kindergarten in a high-quality service by 2029.
Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Supporting the successful roll out and implementation of three year old funded kindergarten across the Shire
- Supporting services to maximise licensed capacity to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate in two years of 15 hours of funded kindergarten
- Increasing education and awareness of the benefits of Early Start Kindergarten
- Engaging and building partnerships with key stakeholders
- Developing and implementing community engagement platforms to strengthen networks
- Establishment of the Early Years Educator Network
- Support Kindergarten Central Registration system improvement
- Degree level qualification in early childhood, education, health, social science or related field
- Demonstrated experience in strategic partnerships, community and stakeholder engagement
- Understanding about early childhood education reforms and funded three year old Kindergarten
- Understanding of kindergarten programs in long day care and sessional/stand-alone settings
- Understanding of how to create and nurture culturally safe environments for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
- An Employee Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to undertake an Australian Criminal History Check
- A valid Driver’s Licence
