In this role, you will lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives, participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division, develop the quality of teaching and learning, as well as nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced educators to join our team in a temporary full-time capacity until December 2021.

Your Role

As the Head of Department - Teaching and Learning, you will have responsibility for the following:

Assist the Deputy Principal of Inclusion in the development of the school inclusion policy and practice
Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the inclusion policy and related actions so as to ensure equitable access to a relevant curriculum for learners with Individual educational needs
Assist the Deputy Principal of Inclusion in overseeing the formulation, implementation and review of Individual Curriculum Programs where required
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students with disability.
Assist in managing the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the inclusive education faculty to achieve school goals.
Compile, access and regularly monitor the records of diverse and supported learners
Assist the DPI in providing advice to Learning Support and Diverse Learning Educators
Co-ordinating professional development opportunities for colleagues and participating in continuing Professional Development
Liaise and collaborate with external agencies, parents and carers of students with disabilities and who require support.
Gather diagnostic data as required to help plan class timetabling, support provisions and develop a specific learning path for diverse and supported learners.
Support and actively implement inclusive education practices.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
