Faculty of EAIT Student Employability Team

The Student Employability Team is the Faculty’s gateway for industry engagement with students. The team identifies and facilitates placement opportunities for all EAIT students and enhances the student experience and employability outcomes through the provision of a student employability program. This program will fit within the broader University of Queensland's Student Employability Strategy and Employability Framework.

About This Opportunity

The Employability Advisor will contribute to the development, implementation and coordination of industry-student activities which benefit EAIT students by allowing them to better understand the professional environment in which they will work, and learn valuable employability skills.

The main focus of this role will be in leading the student-focused activities for work integrated learning (WIL) placements and in the development, implementation and delivery of employability related modules and activities to further prepare EAIT students for the graduate employment market. You will will also assist in the identification of potential partners for WIL placements.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this position you will be degree qualified in business or a related field with subsequent relevant experience and/ or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

You should possess a demonstrated understanding of labour market trends and issues relating to recruitment; an understanding of trends and issues relating to student and/or graduate employment would be highly regarded.

You will require excellent and effective organisational skills and attention to detail with an ability to manage timelines, priorities and handle a high volume of recruitment related activities.

You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position until 4 March 2022 at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784- $86,768, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517 - $101,519
