JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will be responsible for the management of quality assurance, regulatory compliance and performance for vocational programs and the continuous improvement of process and practice. Your leadership within the Vocational Education (VE) quality and policy team, and collaboration across departments, is responsible for driving high standards of service to students and stakeholders.

Located within the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Pathways and Vocational Education), and reporting to the Director Business Services and Quality, your day to day responsibilities will include maintaining strong working relationships across PAVE and the organization to achieve strategic outcomes. You will lead the VE Quality and Policy team with responsibility for the implementation of systematic and strategic approaches to quality and business improvement across PAVE.

As such, your role will be geared towards leading and collaborating with the teaching departments, third parties and central support areas to deliver high-quality education and streamlined processes. In doing so, your contribution will assist the university in achieving its 2025 vision to become a leading university of science, technology and innovation.

Please note that this opportunity is being offered on a full time, fixed-term basis for a 2-year period.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • A sound understanding of University policies in relation to VE quality and policy and knowledge of relevant Government regulations and their implications for the University
  • Demonstrated significant experience in the Vocational Education sector in quality and compliance areas with a particularly focus on ASQA Standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and implement change in a complex multi-sector environment. Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and to influence key personnel on business practices.
