Short Description

The Centre Coordinator (Aquatics Safety) manages and leads the lifeguard teams to ensure that the supervision and aquatics safety culture meets agreed standards. They will lead, inspire, and motivate their team through clear and achievable team goals and ensure high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures.


The Centre Coordinator assists the Manager by working as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they provide support to customers and staff across all areas of the facility.

About the Centre

The YMCA has been engaged by Moreland City Council to work together to deliver the vision of an Active Moreland for the entire Moreland community.


The YMCA's work in partnership with Council extends to all corners of Moreland however is based at the six aquatic and leisure facilities in Brunswick Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre, Coburg Olympic Outdoor Pool, Fawkner Leisure Centre, Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool and Oak Park Leisure Centre (under construction).

The main goal within Moreland is to create more opportunities for more people to be more active, more often, especially those who are least likely to participate in healthy and active lifestyles.

About the Role

Knowledge and Experience

  • Leadership experience – minimum 12 months
  • Relevant diploma; or approved equivalent
  • Facility Operations experience is desirable

Qualifications

Mandatory Pre-Requisite Qualifications

  • HLCPR201A Perform CPR
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
  • SISSS00111 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set
  • Pool Operations Certificate

  • ACF Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
  • Two reference checks
