Bundamba State School has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Department (Curriculum). As the Head of Department (Curriculum), you will lead the curriculum and pedagogical focus for P-2 in line with school and departmental initiatives and participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division. This will be achieved by leading the development of quality teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and community stakeholders.

About Bundamba State School

Bundamba State School is situated in the busy growth corridor of the eastern Ipswich area in South East Queensland. The school is attached to the metropolitan education region.

Our school has a clear focus and a rigorous approach to teaching and improving the reading, and numeracy standards of our students. All key learning areas are taught in line with the Australian national curriculum.

Our school runs a strong support program for students who are not achieving to their potential. We have two full time support teachers for literacy and numeracy, a full time guidance officer, a chaplain and a learning engagement officer to assist students and our community.

About You

The ideal candidate will lead learning from a place of deep curriculum knowledge and use a relationship-centred approach that assists them in developing all members of the community. They will have a well formed understanding of the Departments strategic agenda that will enable them to identify and leverage opportunities that benefit learners at our school and across the system.

About the Role

As the Head of Department (Curriculum) you will have the responsibility for the following:

  • Embed and drive the improvement strategies outlined in the school's Annual
  • Improvement Plan with specific focus on Reading and Engagement
  • Operate strategically and be futures oriented
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the P - 2 subsection of the school to achieve goals.

This position reports to the Deputy Principal P- 2.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE.
