Duration: 12-month fixed-term appointment
Remuneration: $69,401 - $94,190 pa Level A (plus 9.5% employer superannuation)
$99,147 - $117,738 pa Level B (plus 9.5% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to be a part of our research team in the Biomedical Signal Processing Research Lab , within the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering . Our research focuses on biomedical signal processing, data science and AI in healthcare, particularly applications of advanced signal and image processing, machine learning and physiological modelling to develop affordable and reliable healthcare technologies.
The Research Fellow is expected to make significant contributions to the research effort of the lab and strategic research objectives of the department. Our team is made up of vibrant researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, interns and research assistants.
To be successful in this role, you will have a:
- Background in methodical work in data science and AI, signal and image processing, including probiomedical, audio or acoustic signal processing with grounding and connections in traditional EE areas (IE, statistical signal processing, speech processing)
- Strong programming skills
- Relevant qualification in biomedical, electronic or software engineering or computer science
- Understanding or interest or knowledge in medical devices and mobile-health systems
- Positive attitude, team-working skills, excellent written communication and verbal communication skills

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
