About the role

The Training Design and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organisation’s employees. The role oversees training programs, staff and budgets and is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of the full library of training and development products and services to meet operational needs and people capability. This role will lead a new team of 5 across Instructional and Learning Design, Compliance and Digital. It is a requirement that the successful candidate holds or is willing to obtain a CERT IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice training, vision, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve PN operational and people performance.
  • Design and delivery of training courses and workshops, utilising a variety of methods. (face to face, electronic, blended, train the trainer)
  • Assess proposals for training courses received from business units and lead design team to deliver on business and operational training needs.
  • Understand training requirements and advise on the most appropriate solutions based on training needs analysis.
  • Lead team to design training materials, courses and programmes and to produce related training materials.
  • Undertake the programme management for both accredited and non-accredited training.
  • Management of evaluation processes, quality assurance, data, versioning and Learning Management System.
  • Develop testing and evaluation procedures to measure course and learner satisfaction.
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and employee development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on the job training, or eLearning.
  • Responsible for leading team to analyse training needs, develop new programs or modify and improve existing content.

About your experience

The key to success in this role is your ability to communicate effectively across multidiscipline teams. You may have experience working within operations or a large diverse business with a strong desire to work shoulder to shoulder with your team and business unit/s to determine and deliver training outcomes.

In addition you will require:

  • Degree in instructional design, learning and development, Human Resources or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in managing training and development products and services as well as the design and delivery of training.
  • Extensive experience in organisational learning and development
  • 5 years + experience with online learning development, training methodologies and online education, including the design, creation, delivery, and evaluation of both accredited and non-accredited online and face to face learning courses using multimedia and web-based applications.
  • Experience in managing teams or projects
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials that support course learning objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, building, implementing and evaluating online and blended personal development offerings.
  • Ability to formally present ideas and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience of RTOs, including VET regulations and compliance.
