JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Speech Pathologists is a member of an inter-disciplinary team, providing delegated line management and professional support to speech pathologists and working with children and young people with speech, language and/or communication issues and their families. The Senior Speech Pathologist works closely with the Team Leader, other Senior Speech Pathologists, speech pathologists, preschool and school staff, and parents to develop evidence based speech, language and communication interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies that can be adapted for learning and home contexts. This position will have a greater focus on proactive whole site and Partnership approaches. The role requires the recruitment, retention, induction and professional support and development of speech pathologists with a focus on meeting professional and service delivery standards.

Essential Qualifications

An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives elegibility for full membership to Speech Pathology Australia.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires. The incumbent will be required to undertake Responding to Abuse & Neglect (RAN) full day/online training course every three years. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the Role Description.

Remuneration
AHP3 - $98,157 to $105,285 per annum

Special Notes
This is a long term full time contract until 24 December 2022.
