About The College of Vocational Education

The purpose of RMIT’s College of Vocational Education (VE) is to empower learners and our industry, community and government partners to succeed in the new world of work. Led by our Deputy Vice Chancellor, the College of VE is reimagining how we deliver vocational education to create unique experiences for our students and partners.

About the role

As the Government Contracts and Reporting Advisor, you will work closely with and report to the Principal Advisor, VE and coordinate internal and external contracts and allocated funds and projects, including the coordination of the VET funding contracts and project reports with relevant stakeholders across RMIT and the College of VE. In this role, you will also be required to work with the Finance team and data and reporting functions to ensure funding is reconciled and provide regular reporting to the broader University as needed. In addition, as the Government Contracts and Reporting Advisor, you will:

  • Monitor and analyse contracts and amendments and implications to key funding contracts, working at pace to ensure critical actions and timelines are met
  • Be required to prepare briefings and provide recommendations against complex and detailed information across contract and reporting obligations
  • Be responsible for ensuring that initiatives and projects across VE College are efficiently planned, implemented and reported
  • Provide project reports on time with the relevant stakeholders and coordinate government contract requirements

About you

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to collect and review complex data and information, produce reports and recommendations and strategies for continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence and negotiate for solutions across a broad spectrum of internal/external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex policies, procedures, and systems consistently, provide strategic advice and drive creative solutions through to implementation
  • Strong practical organisational skills in the planning, development, implementation, operation and review of resources and services to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Experience in operational planning and strong project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to draw on your internal and external network and resources to manage complex, sensitive and confidential issues

Qualifications

Relevant degree and/or qualifications and experience.

Experience in the TAFE or university sector and/or experience with funding contracts will be well regarded but is not essential.

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing Police and Working with Children Check.
