About the role:

The College of Business and Law is one of the largest business schools in the Asia Pacific region and delivers industry-engaged education and applied research that spark ambition and new perspectives. Attracting over 31,000 students, programs are delivered in Melbourne, Vietnam, and via significant teaching partnerships in Singapore, China and Indonesia. Through RMIT Online, the College offers a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs.

The Governance and Compliance Advisor is a newly created role to make your own. This exciting opportunity will sit within the newly formed Business Transformation and Governance Team! The primary task of your new role will be embedding risk processes for the College as well as contributing to the improving and maintaining of the governance and compliance frameworks. Moving forward this role will grow beyond its core functions providing opportunities to be involved in projects, accreditation and strategy implementation!

About you

To be successful for this opportunity you will have:

  • Knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management and compliance management best practice. Demonstrated experience in implementing or supporting implementation of key governance, compliance and risk processes within a complex organisation, ideally with experience in the tertiary sector.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and implement practical and workable solutions in a large and sophisticated organisation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of policy, process and guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to produce reports and communications for relevant stakeholders around governance and compliance.
  • Increase awareness of governance, compliance and risk management competency by delivering training and education programs to staff.
  • High quality stakeholder engagement including liaising with all levels of staff and senior leaders. Proven track record of liaising discreetly, maintaining confidentiality and working effectively across the College and University.
  • High level of computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office software, project management software and demonstrated evidence of delivering high quality papers and presentations.

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
