To support this success, we are seeking a Training Specialist to join our People and Corporate Services team in Brisbane. This role will be offered as a fixed term position for a 6-month period.
What does this role involve?
Reporting to the General Manager People & Corporate Services, this position will play a key role in achieving a business-wide, strategic objective to lift the technical and commercial capability of our people. The successful applicant will be responsible for working collaboratively with leaders and subject matter experts within the business to develop a broad range of training programs on topics such as engineering design, project management, and plant operations and maintenance.
Your duties will include:
- Identifying core training needs, particularly for professional and technical roles
- Collating and transforming highly complex and technical information into informative, engaging, and effective learning experiences for current and new employees
- Selecting an appropriate training delivery format based on the training content and objectives
- Developing e-learning, facilitator-led and blended training packages, including training assessments where applicable
- Developing training implementation plans, including strategies to ensure embedded and sustained learning
- Making the required changes in the LMS to capture training packages developed.
What are we looking for?
To be considered for this role you will have experience in a similar role in designing training programs ideally in the engineering, construction or resource sectors.
You will also possess:
- A training design and development qualification
- A strong customer service orientation and proven ability to readily engage with key stakeholders
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing training programs and materials, including e-learning programs and assessments
- Experience in creating ASQA-compliant learning and assessment material and combining this with complex, organisationally-specific operational needs
- Exceptional project management and organisational skills.
