About The BUSY School...
The BUSY Group, a longstanding partner in the Cairns Community, is all about getting more people into jobs and education. In 2019 we joined forces with Skill360, a Cairns institution. Being a part of the community for four decades, our sole purpose has been all about helping people get skilled, educated and employed. We are proud to continue this exceptional legacy with the addition of The BUSY Schools Cairns Campus to our community offerings.
For over 40 years, The BUSY Group has delivered specialised, tailored programs to youth and we recognise that there are many young people who are struggling to find their way in school and/or are at significant risk of disengaging with the education system.
The BUSY Schools Cairns Campus offers an alternative learning approach with the opportunity for students to reconnect with education, while getting a head-start into employment. Most programs designed to help young people, have rigid criteria and inflexible timetables, our programs are different.
Fully Government funded, The BUSY school delivers an individualised learning experience that ensures the future success for all its students.
Based in Cairns, you will be required to reengage students and teach within the areas of English and Social Community Studies or Maths and Social Community Studies.
Our team is small and everyone is required to work together to assist our students and the school in achieving success. This involves building strong respectful relationships with a range of students while utilising behaviour management techniques to maintain the expectations of the classroom. It also involves working closely with teacher aides and utilising their abilities in the classroom to help the students.
A bit about your experience and quals …
You are a suitably qualified professional that is dedicated, hard working and experienced in the classroom with disengaged students. You will have experience with students with social-emotional challenges and have the ability to teach in either English or Social Community Studies. If you would like to work in a school that has a fundamental emphasis on what our young people can achieve for life, and above all, your values align with ours, then we highly recommend you visit;
