Applecross Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of hardworking, team focussed Education Assistant’s – Mainstream for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2021.
As an Education Assistant – Mainstream, you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role, you would need to collaborate and work in a team environment, possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as possess the ability to support general health and well-being of students. Suitable applicants will ideally be organised and be able to use their initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
Located in the riverside suburb of Applecross, approximately 7 kilometres south of Perth, Applecross PS currently has approximately 570 students catering for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. The school is set amid picturesque and historical grounds and having a small remnant strip of bushland bordering the oval, offers the opportunity to connect with environmental issues.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
