Are you passionate about writing and research? Are you interested to take part in a mission to transform lives through quality training resources?

One of Australia’s largest training resource development companies is looking for talented and experienced Training Resource Developers & Instructional Designers on a contract-based, per-piece work rate to join our dynamic team.

Our current development projects are projected to last a minimum of 6 months, with the possibility of further contract work into the future.

About the Role

This role is focused on writing training and assessment materials for Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector across a broad range of industries including Business, Early Childhood Education, Education Support, Construction, ICT and other areas.

We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience writing any of the following for Australia’s VET sector:

  • Learner Guides
  • Assessment Workbooks & Assessor Guides
  • RPL Kits
  • And other relevant training resources.

Relevant experience working in VET and developing training materials that comply with training package requirements and the Standards for RTOs (2015) is essential!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and updating learning and assessment materials.
  • Developing educational course content and learning curriculum/syllabus.
  • Undertaking independent research and consultation with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop learning content and assessment materials.
  • Reviewing and validating existing materials for quality and compliance.
  • Working closely with the Development Team towards set goals and objectives within project plans and timeframes.
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and formatting documents for publishing from time to time.


Candidate Must Possess:

  • Adept research and writing skills across a broad range of industries
  • Previous experience in the VET industry
  • Demonstrated training and assessment tool development skills
  • Decent typing speed
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (focus on Word/Excel)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow instruction
  • Available to work full-time hours is preferred
