JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Instrumental Music Program offers both private and group lessons. We are an ensemble based program with both a Junior and Senior Concert Band. You will teach group and private students for 30 minute lessons on weekly basis. You will also conduct the Junior and Senior Concert Band for weekly rehearsals and at school concerts and events. You will report on student progress each semester and communicate with the Instrumental Coordinator in a timely manner as required.

You will also have a Bachelor of Music degree or AMUS AMEB on a wind, brass or percussion instrument. An Education degree is highly desirable but not essential. A Teachers registration or Blue Card is essential. Prior experience in teaching group and private lessons as well as preparing students for AMEB examinations would be advantageous. We also seek an individual who exhibits enthusiasm for teaching young students, especially those on the beginning of their musical journey. The school uses Office 365 applications for reporting and teaching purposes.

Queen of Apostles School is a co-educational primary school with an approximate enrolment of 420 students. The school has two campuses, with Prep to Year 2 located at Chuter St Stafford Heights and Years 3 to 6 at Thuruna Street. Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 2 days/wk (10 hrs of lessons & band rehearsals). Some additional hours for concerts and other school events throughout the year.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: $68.06/hr is the agreed rate for this role

Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
