Barcaldine Prep-12 State School are looking for a leadership team member who has demonstrated ability to assist staff in planning and delivering P-12 curriculum in a rural setting. A demonstrated thorough understanding and clear ability to align and implement the Prep-10 Australian Curriculum with the schools strategic direction is vital. Knowledge, demonstrated implementation and tracking of the 3 levels of planning in relation to the Australian Curriculum is also required. Evidence based pedagogical knowledge with data to support practices is recommended. The Deputy Principal position will furthermore involve working with the school community through proactive collaborative relationship building and connections.

About Barcaldine Prep-12 State School

Barcaldine Prep-12 State School is located in the township of Barcaldine in Central West Queensland, approximately 600 km west of Rockhampton. In 2012 the school celebrated its 125th Anniversary with many reunions and whole community events. Barcaldine is the home of the Tree of Knowledge, site of the Shearer's Strikes and often acknowledged as the birthplace of the Labor Party as well as the Conservative party of the time. The Australian Workers' Heritage Centre is located here and the community also has the Wanpa-rda Outdoor Education Centre co-located with the Australian Workers' Heritage Centre.

Your Role

As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Deputise for the Principal when required.
Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
Be futures oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
Manage resources to achieve goals.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
