The Dean of Students and Registrar is responsible for overall leadership and management of the Student Experience and Administration Services (SEAS) Directorate and the provision of Registrar services to the University. This encompasses the oversight of the complete life cycle of student experience in the University from admission to final graduation, prioritising student engagement and retention, inclusion, health and well-being, academic progression and support and student communications.

About the role

Provide strategic advice on and lead the development of student support, engagement and consultative programs, health and wellbeing services, student experience and advisory services, student academic support and communications and registrar functions.

You will operate with a significant level of independence and autonomy in establishing the operational objectives and priorities for the SEAS Directorate in accordance with University imperatives and the University Strategic Plan, being accountable for ensuring the development and delivery of cost effective and quality services and programs for students.

You will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting a collaborative and positive workplace culture among staff within the SEAS Directorate, and will have clear accountability for the Directorate performance.

About you

You will possess expert knowledge of the changes and challenges facing the tertiary education sector, including legislative and regulatory requirements, and the role student experience and engagement plays in attracting and retaining students and enhancing the financial and reputational outcomes of the University.

You will demonstrate proven success in developing and implementing strategies and programs that build the capacity of students to engage with learning and university life, particularly students from identified equity groups and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

This is a senior leadership position, which will challenge your strategic, conceptual and analytical skills.

This position is located at the University’s Mt Helen Campus. The incumbent will be required to undertake duties at any of the University's campuses. The incumbent must be willing to travel often domestically and occasionally internationally, between campuses and work at a range of locations.
