The Role

We are seeking a Tutor Support Officer to join our team on a fixed term, full time basis (until 10th December, 2021) to support students with individual needs at our City campus.

Duties

• Complete weekly student notes
• Implement activities that will support the individual needs of the students
• Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the students and the supports that they require
• Provide feedback to the class teacher and Individual Needs Adviser about how the students are coping with the activities, their general learning behaviours and any other observations
• Reinforce the teacher’s instructions and keep the students on task
• Offer individual support to enable the students to develop specific skills
• Accompany the students on excursions, if requested
• Attend staff briefings and campus staff meetings
• Attend compulsory professional development programs (first aid training, anaphylaxis training)

Skills & Experience

• Must have experience working with children and a Working With Children Check Card
• Demonstrated knowledge of working with students with individual needs
• Excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Time-management skills
