We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

  • Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer you will provide strategic leadership in building and directing a comprehensive, long-term program.
  • You will participate in strategic planning, policy formulation, monitoring and evaluation for the Advancement portfolio. As an engaging and visionary leader, with experience in delivering multi-million dollar grants/donations, you will have the chance to set the strategic direction and agenda of the development team really making this role your own. ​
  • Completion of a higher degree in a relevant area with considerable business development or fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in helping deliver multi-year, multi-million dollar donations (grants or gifts) from philanthropic sources.
  • Demonstrated breadth of education in, and facility for, the liberal arts, physical and life sciences, business and economics, law, and health sciences.
  • Management experience with the ability to successfully build, manage, develop and lead a team and provide a demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high quality service.
  • Ability to identify fundable possibilities and shape them into proposals for programs of work that attract funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop good working relationships with corporate CEOs and their delegates, directors and trustees of foundations, government ministers, community leaders and senior leaders of the University.
  • Excellent persuasive written and oral communication skills, including experience in strategic communications and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead and efficiently execute a creative strategic vision to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience working in universities or research-intensive institutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australia’s research funding environment, particularly with respect to philanthropic and corporate giving, and of opportunities to leverage government funding.
