A wonderful not-for-profit organisation run by a committee of parents, is looking for an Inclusion Support Officer to join their well-established team.

This Service has a strong management structure and opportunities for career progression within the Service. The team includes responsible persons and year group leaders to ensure quality education and care for their Service licensed for up to 300 children.

This role will see the successful candidate step into an Inclusion Support role. As part of this senior role, you will be expected to:

  • assist with the implementation of Inclusion Support strategies and policies
  • build strong and respectful relationships with the children at the service
  • mentor Educators on inclusive strategies to ensure inclusion for all children in the program
  • ensure children have smooth transitions to and from school & home
  • have clear communication with families regarding their child’s participation in the program
  • have a strong understanding of anti-bias, inclusion & diversity in and OSHC program
  • have an understanding of Child Development & age / developmentally appropriate programs
  • develop & implement Reconciliation Action Plans in consultation with Reconciliation Australia & the Service team
  • work well in a team environment but also work well autonomously or 1:1 with children needing support

Who are we looking for?

  • A passionate professional with preferable experience in Inclusion support roles and/ or working with children with additional needs
  • Experience with building relationships & ensuring positive interactions with families
  • Someone with a focus on quality improvement to achieve Service goals
  • Someone with fantastic communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and train Educators within the Service in inclusion support
  • Working towards a qualification or hold Diploma in Children’s Services (Out-of-Hours Care), or equivalent desirable.
  • Someone with the availability to work each afternoon at the Service
  • CHCPRT001- Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • HLTAID004- Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
