The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences is Australias most diversified agriculture research and teaching school, comprising research and teaching experts in agribusiness and the science disciplines of animals and wildlife, plants and soil sciences, food and nutrition science. The School offers a range of undergraduate postgraduate coursework and research degrees encompassing agriculture and related disciplines ranging from Bachelor Degree to Doctorate.

About This Opportunity

The School is seeking highly motivated and energetic individuals with a record of high quality teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Soil Science discipline area. Essential to the role is an ability to proactively contribute to the development of course content and to undertake teaching, research and engagement activities.

This position will be seen as a key contributor to the schools research agenda and will have a focus on establishing a national and international research program and obtaining competitive external research grant funding. The role will also work both independently and collaboratively with research teams within the School and undertake the supervision of research students.

For US applicants, please note that Australian Universities use British terminology, as such a Lecturer position is equivalent to that of a non-tenured Assistant Professor position in the US.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this position you will possess a PhD with relevant postdoctoral experience in the area of Soil Science.

You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career aligned with the School's research themes, the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams, outstanding communication and engagement skills, and the ability to work effectively in teaching teams and actively contribute to the curriculum.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at Academic Level B or C, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%.

The remuneration for Academic Level B will be in the range $99,542 - $118,206

The remuneration for Academic Level C will be in the range $121,939 - $140,603
