About the team
At Monash College Diplomas, we offer a pathway into bachelor courses at Monash University. We have diplomas leading to degrees in arts, art and design and architecture, business, engineering, information technology and science. All students who achieve the required grade are offered a place at the University with full credit into the second year of their degree studies. Our programs adhere to strict educational benchmarks in teaching and innovation. Delivered by qualified, experienced and supportive teachers, students gain confidence in the independent learning and critical thinking styles expected at Monash University.
About the role
As a STEM Learning Skills Advisor working within our Diplomas team, you will provide learning support to our students and staff. This will include the development of strategies and responses for "at risk" students and assisting students to develop individual learning plans and independent learning skills. In addition, you will develop targeted resources and adjunct programs such as workshops and consultation programs for students to meet individual learning needs in our STEM areas.

About you
If you have highly developed verbal and written communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships and experience supporting the learning of young people, particularly those from diverse cultural backgrounds, then this could be the opportunity for you.
In addition, you will also have:
- A degree in Engineering, Mathematics or a numeracy based STEM discipline
- A Teaching/Education qualification will be highly regarded
- The ability to successfully identify and apply approaches to learning and teaching to address the needs of students in a transition education setting
- Understanding of STEM pedagogies
- Demonstrated knowledge of transition education frameworks and issues especially academic learning skill development and student performance
- Experience in design and delivery of workshops and development of innovative learning resources in a variety of formats
