The University of Queensland Rural Clinical School

Established in 2002, our Rural Clinical School works to foster and sustain a skilled and dynamic medical workforce to meet the needs of rural, regional and remote Queensland. UQRCS is the largest rural clinical school in Australia hosted by a single university.

We provide students with rigorous clinical training built upon hands-on experiences in hospitals and community-based practices. Above all, we give our students the unique opportunity to live and work in some of Queensland's amazing rural, regional and remote locations.

Our classrooms are the public and private hospitals, specialist consulting rooms, general practices and community healthcare settings throughout rural Queensland. Our teachers are dedicated and passionate rural clinicians. Our students have the opportunity to learn in a range of clinical contexts across the public, private and community sectors.

About This Opportunity

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Team Leader to oversee and coordinate a broad range of operational functions within our Rural Clinical School - Toowoomba Office.

Leading a team of student coordination staff, you will work closely alongside the Operations Manager to support optimal learning and living experiences for medical students, undertaking their clinical training with the Rural Clinical School - Toowoomba.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Student Coordinators by providing leadership and supervision of the UQRCS' operations
  • Contribute to the development and lead the implementation of initiatives to promote the continuing development of staff and a high-performing, collaborative workplace culture
  • Administer curriculum delivery, working with and supporting clinical teachers and other relevant staff to achieve an optimal learning experience for students
  • Administer stakeholder relations establishing and advancing effective liaison with clinicians and relevant staff in teaching hospitals and practices.
This position is primarily based at our . Roughly 125 km west of Brisbane, Toowoomba is a dynamic regional town with a population of more than 100,000 people. As the main centre for the Darling Downs Region, it's a hub for industry, commerce, education and health.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed-term position (ending 31 December, 2021) at HEW level 6. While currently fixed term, there is the possibility of extension to this appointment, subject to funding.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784 - $86,768, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range of $94,517 - $101,519.
