JOB DESCRIPTION

The role, Assistant to the Principal exists to provide:

  • assistance and loyalty to the Principal, providing a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Principal.
  • to ensure that the duties are accomplished in a time effective and time efficient manner
  • maintaining student records, typing and preparation of documents, ordering of school requisites and administrative support for the principal and Assistant Principals;

Essential Criteria:
  • support the ethos of Catholic education
  • excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft written communications on behalf of the Principal
  • ability to work in the unique environment of a Foundation school with competing demands, interruption and where tasks need to be prioritised
  • proven knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member, with the capacity to build and maintain effective relationships
  • personal qualities such as loyalty, flexibility, initiative and resourcefulness and capacity and commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • exercise substantial responsibility, independent judgement and initiative with a detailed knowledge of complex office procedures
  • willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead 2018 - Category A – Accreditation to Work. Desirable Criteria:
  • an understanding and previous experience in a school environment
  • previous experience with programs: Compass, TechnologyOne
  • knowledge of financial practices and procedures Renumeration: Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
