JOB DESCRIPTION
The Uniform Shop is a service provided by the College, and we are seeking an experienced Retail Manager. This crucial position provides excellent customer service to ensure happy customers, and yet maintaining a professional business presence.
This casual position is for between 7 - 10 hours per week and the College Uniform Shop is currently open three mornings per week (Mon, Wed, Thu).
Your skills in managing the day to day operations of the shop will include inventory management, liaising with College finance staff, and liaising with suppliers.
Previous ordering/buyer experience is essential together with electronic POS experience. Demonstrated skills in time management will assist in fulfilling the online orders ready for student/parent collection.
The needs of the College community require the Uniform Shop to be open in the weeks prior to the start of the school year, and in the September school holidays and, by negotiation, the occasional Saturday in this peak back to school time.
To ensure students are clothed according to the Uniform Policy, you will become familiar with the Uniform Policy to ensure parents and students are aware of the College requirements.
St Michael’s College is a co-educational Catholic secondary College administered by Brisbane Catholic Education with an approximate enrolment of 900 students. We are recognised on the Gold Coast for our great successes in academic, cultural, sporting and vocational fields over the past 30 years. have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
Estimated Start Date: Commencing February 2021
Position Tenure: Casual
Weeks Worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)
Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):
Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: Approx. 7 - 10 hours per week (additional hours by negotiation)
Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: Services Staff Level 2 - $34.29 per hour (casual rate)
Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
