The Opportunity

TAFE NSW is seeking qualified, experienced Music professionals to share their knowledge and experience. Permanent part-time role (17.5 hours per week), located at TAFE NSW Nirimba campus.

Your peers will include head teachers and teachers of other creative teaching sections, including animation, film and television. You will be highly supported in this fast paced environment.

About you

To succeed in the role, you will need to be experienced Musician who is able to confidently demonstrate developed music performance skills at a high level. To succeed in the role you will have proven experience in using a range of music technologies for recording, composition and production at a level consistent with working music industry professionals. In addition the successful applicant will have practical experience in the undertaking the business of professional musicianship and music composition practice.

You are passionate about the industry, aware of current industry requirements and have a willingness to continue to obtain industry knowledge. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share information with your peers and students face to face and when required, via connected learning platforms.

To be considered for the role you will hold;

  • Formal qualification in music from a recognised education provider at diploma level or higher
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Recent experience designing and delivering music performance, theory and production training in the VET sector
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional currency
  • Commitment and ability to facilitate learning in an adult environment
  • Great team player who strives to achieve success for your all students
