St Michael’s Grammar School is one of the leading co-educational, independent schools in Australia, providing exceptional learning opportunities to students from Kindergarten to Year 12. St Michael’s Grammar School was established by the Anglican Community of the Sisters of the Church on its current site on Chapel Street in 1895 and is celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2020.
The role
We are seeking an exceptional Science Teacher to deliver effective teaching, learning and caring programs as part of our Science faculty across Years 7-10.
This is a part time (0.4), fixed term position for Term 2, 2021, with the possibility to extend.
You will be aligned with the School’s ethos, vision and values, and be curious, excited and invigorated by learning environments where you can make a difference.
The successful applicant must:
- be a qualified teacher and be able to demonstrate a suitable tertiary qualification in teaching and their methods
- have experience teaching Science across Years 7-10
- be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School’s program
- possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
- have high level communication skills
- be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team
- hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- hold an Anaphylaxis Certificate and a current National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months)
