This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2021

Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a collaborative, dedicated and highly motivated Mathematics teacher to join our Independent Public School. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and will have success working with students across a range of ability levels. You will support major school directions and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are also required for this role. Furthermore, strong applicants will have the ability to incorporate ICT and enterprise skills into the design of the teaching and learning experience, as well as utilise formative assessment and data analysis to provide explicit feedback to target specific student needs. The successful applicant will be required to teach a fraction of their load in a second learning area; this will most likely be in Health and Physical Education or Science.

Since 1921, Pinjarra Senior High School has proudly served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region. We provide a mix of traditional and innovative programs aimed at preparing our Year 7 to 12 students for tertiary education, TAFE, traineeships and apprenticeships, or the workplace.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
