The Role

We are seeking to recruit an Engineering Trainer located at our Perth base. This role will report to the Training Manager and be responsible for the coordination of technical training for Regional Services engineering employees. Responsibilities will include the production of course syllabi and training notes and conducting training courses.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and conduct training courses and assessments, ensuring delivery in accordance with the MOE, MTOE and associated manuals
  • In conjunction with the Training Manager, develop and conduct refresher courses on company procedures
  • Manage training paperwork and maintain company training records, including LMS management.
  • Ensure compliance with Cobham Engineering WHSMS policies and procedures
  • Management and development of Check and Training Engineers
  • Support and promote employee compliance with the Safety Management and Quality Management Systems and a Just Culture by providing appropriate direction and resources and by monitoring safety activities and performance
  • Any other duties as directed by the Training Manager
  • Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position


Skills and Experience
  • Qualification in Aeroskills to a minimum of Certificate IV level
  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in development and delivery of technical training courses
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance and knowledge of aircraft systems
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals and navigation
  • Be capable of holding an ASIC
  • Sound knowledge of CASR as it applies to Part 66 and a Part 145 and Part 147 organisation
  • Advanced skills in the use of the Microsoft suite of products
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound communication skills with the ability to communicate and manage internal and external relationships at all levels
  • Some domestic travel may be required

  • Aircraft maintenance type rating.
  • Sound knowledge of QMS and SMS
  • Sound knowledge of WHS
  • Familiarity with aviation safety software, RAMCO, Galaxy (Pelesys) or similar
