Salary: $90,657 pa (pro-rata) + super
Location: Ringwood
Community and Online Engagement Officer - Youth and Children’s Services
The Community and Online Engagement Officer raises community awareness of Council’s work and opportunities for support to improve the wellbeing of 0-25-year old’s. The role promotes 2-way engagement between Council and Maroondah’s children and young people on matters that affect them.
The successful applicant will use both online and face to face strategies; consulting directly with children, young people and their families about local issues, and building relationships which capitalise on local strengths. They will lead the Maroondah Youth Wellbeing Advocates (MYWA) and develop programs for Maroondah’s children.
A key focus of the role will be to facilitate and expand networking and information sharing opportunities with professionals across the Maroondah child, youth and family sector and include coordinating the Maroondah Youth Service Providers Network.
Applicants must have excellent relationship building skills, a strong knowledge of online media, experience in the community sector, and have a genuine desire to raise the well-being of local children, young people and families.
Collaboration and creativity within a team environment is required to explore new initiatives and opportunities to actively increase the profile of children and young people as valued and equal members of the Maroondah community.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and a proven ability to engage with the community are essential.
