About the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia:

The Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (the TRB) is established under the Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004 (the Act) and the Teachers Registration and Standards Regulations 2016 (the Regulations) to regulate the teaching profession. The object of the Act is, in the public interest, to maintain a teacher registration system and professional standards for teachers to ensure its members are competent, fit and proper to have the care of children.

The TRB is an independent statutory authority. The TRB employs its own staff and is a public sector agency under the Public Sector Act 2009. The TRB has entered into an Administrative Agreement with the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment (the Commissioner) and complies with the Commissioner’s Determinations, Guidelines and the Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector. The TRB adheres to Work Health and Safety requirements, equal opportunity principles and public sector principles. The TRB is committed to creating a diverse workgroup.

The South Australian Public Sector Salaried Employees Interim Award and the South Australian Modern Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2017 governs the employment conditions of the Board.

Job Description:

The Project Officer, Professional Teaching Standards provides support to teachers to meet registration and professional standard requirements. The role provides leadership for the development, implementation, maintenance and review of projects, programs and policies supporting the promotion of the teaching profession and professional standards for teachers, including the accreditation of Initial Teacher Education programs.

The Teachers Registration Board is committed to creating a diverse workgroup and providing a flexible working environment.

Special Conditions:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the Role Description.

Essential Minimum Qualifications:

Relevant qualification(s) in education, public administration, project management or related fields.
