Your new company 

Located in South Brisbane, this independent school caters for students from kindergarten to year 11, progressing to year 12 in 2022. The school is coeducational and multi-faith, with a diverse student body from any and all religious and cultural backgrounds promoting a strong sense of global community, where academic and moral excellence can be developed and achieved. The school is smaller in size with 320 students across K-11. The school has a lovely sense of community and is well poised for strong growth as they continue to expand and develop.


Your new role 

The position of School Principal will report directly to the school board. The school is in a growth phase and as such it is important that the school Principal has a growth mindset with strong capabilities for building teams, developing culture, raising school profile and marketing the school to the wider community to drive continued brand and enrolment growth.


You will lead by example, embodying the inclusive values and mission of the school. You will be highly visible, engaging and active as a leader, supporting staff and continually looking to evolve as the school grows over the next 5 years.


You will understand the multi-faith student and family context that underpins the schools non-denominational context, understanding that many students come from family backgrounds other than English. Your strong communication skills and excellent people skills will ensure you develop strong relationships with all stakeholders.


What you'll need to succeed 

To succeed in this position you will:

  • Demonstrate proven experience in school leadership, ideally working across a number of different school contexts in your career.
  • Have a growth mindset, with skills that support school, staff and student development.
  • Have a proven record of implementing strategies to drive academic improvement school wide.
  • Be a relational leader, actively involved in your schools professional teams, developing your staff and instilling a culture of high expectation and student centred action.
  • Have excellent reporting and analytical skills, allowing you to track, understand and use data to inform positive change and growth.
  • Have strong educational administration skills, ensuring the effective day to day operations of the school including human, financial and physical resources.
